How to Choose the Right Sports Floor for Your Gym?
Choosing the right sports floor is one of the most important decisions when setting up your gym. The floor directly affects the safety, performance and appearance of your training space.

Different workouts require different floors. For strength training with heavy weights, you need a thick, shock-absorbing floor. For cardio and group classes, a thinner floor with good grip is often sufficient.

Rubber floors are popular for their durability and ease of maintenance. Leather floors offer a premium look. Wooden floors provide a warm, natural appearance but require more maintenance.
3. Thickness and Cushioning
For home gyms, 15mm is often sufficient. Commercial gyms with heavy equipment need at least 20mm. More cushioning means better protection for both floor and equipment.
4. Budget
Good sports floors are an investment. Expect €30-€80 per m² depending on material and thickness. Think long term: a quality floor lasts 10-15 years.
